PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control bath temperature to an appropriate value according to a position in a plating bath based on specification of a section which largely influences generation of surface defects, and to reduce the difference between the bath temperatures depending to positions in the plating bath as much as possible. SOLUTION: This bath temperature control device includes: a first temperature measuring means for measuring the temperature of a molten metal existing in a first area which is an immersing part of a steel plate 1 immersing in the plating bath and locates at the upper position of the immersing part if the width of a steel plate is the width of a sink roller; a plate temperature adjusting means for adjusting the temperature of the steel plate 1 before entering the plating bath so that the temperature measured by the first temperature measuring means becomes the same as or close to the first bath temperature target value; a second temperature measuring means for measuring the temperature of the molten metal existing in a second area positioned on a lower side than the immersing part immersing in the plating bath of the steel plate 1; and a heating means for heating the molten metal in the second area so that the temperature measured by the second temperature measuring means becomes the same as or close to the second bath temperature target value set beforehand.
