PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtering device used in circulating and using the water in a bathroom and the like, in which the deterioration state of a filter medium can be checked easily and the filter medium can be replaced extremely easily. SOLUTION: The filtering device includes a filter medium storing basket 3 placed in a container 1. At the upper half part of the filter medium storing basket 3, a pair of receiving trays are piled up to be stored in a tiered-box shape, each of which has a lattice-structured bottom. In a first receiving tray on the upper stage side, a first sponge sheet is placed as a filter medium, and in a second receiving tray on the lower stage side, a second sponge sheet that is lower-foaming than the first sponge sheet is placed as a filter medium. On each side face of the first receiving tray and the second receiving tray, a window for filter medium inspection is provided. On the side face of the container and at the upper half part of the filter medium storing basket, peepholes 12 are provided, so that the deterioration state of the first sponge sheet and the second sponge sheet can be viewed at any time.
