The present invention relates to a fluorescent substance, and more specifically, to a yellow light emitting fluorescent substance and a light emitting diode package using the same. According to the present invention, the yellow light emitting fluorescent substance comprises a first fluorescent substance emitting light having a peak wavelength in the range of 510 to 550 nm band; a second fluorescent substance mixed with the first fluorescent substance and emitting light having a peak wavelength in the range of 560 to 600 nm band; and a third fluorescent substance mixed with the first fluorescent substance and the second fluorescent substance, and emitting light having a peak wavelength in the range of 610 to 630 nm band where light absorption factor at a wavelength of 550 nm is less than or equal to 50%.
