METHOD OF DIAGNOSING EATING DISORDERS

Process for diagnosing neuropsychiatric disorders, eating disorders and/or metabolic diseases, comprises measuring the affinity and/or avidity of antibody from a biological sample directed against a biological molecule involved in the homeostasic regulation, in the motivational behavior and/or emotion, and comparing the affinity value obtained with a control value. Independent claims are included for: (1) a diagnostic kit comprising at least a biological molecule comprising a neuropeptide, hormone or a neurotransmitter involved in the homeostasic regulation, in motivational behavior and/or in emotion, and at least a controlled sample comprising an antibody directed against the biological molecule, of which the affinity towards the biological molecule is known; and (2) a compound modulating the concentration of complexes formed by the biological molecule comprising neuropeptide, hormone or neurotransmitter, involved in homeostasic regulation, in the motivational behavior and/or the emotion, and an antibody X directed against the biological molecule, as medicament. - ACTIVITY : Neuroleptic; Eating-Disorders-Gen; Metabolic; Anabolic. - MECHANISM OF ACTION : Alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (MSH) stimulator.
