PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a molding die and a molded article by the same method which has a design surface without particular shine on a rear side of a rib of the molded article formed of synthetic resin. SOLUTION: The method is for manufacturing the molding die 3 for the molded article formed of the synthetic resin whose one surface serves as the design surface with emboss formed thereon, and whose rear surface has the rib. A recessed part 31 and a projecting part 32 corresponding to the emboss is formed by etching on a cavity wall surface 30, and then, medium unevenness 33 is formed on surfaces of the recessed part 31 and projecting part 32 by sandblasting, and small unevenness 34 is formed on the surface of the projecting part 32 by sandblasting. The molded article is manufactured with the molding die 3, and includes the emboss which is formed of a mountain part 21 and a valley part 22, medium unevenness 23 formed on a surface of the mountain part 21, and small unevenness 24 formed on the surface of the valley part 22.
