An assembly for an environmental control system (10) includes a primary air-to-air heat exchanger (28) and an aft manifold (54). The aft manifold (54) is mounted to the primary heat exchanger (28) and is adapted with a first duct (69) to receive air flow from the primary heat exchanger (28). The aft manifold (54) has a bypass duct (56) configured to selectively allow air flow to bypass the primary heat exchanger (28).
