[Class 52 (ii).] In a convertible bed-settee of the type having three folding frames, i.e. a mid-frame pivoted to the fixed frame, a foot - frame pivoted to the mid-frame, and a head - frame pivoted to or connected by links to the mid-frame, the mid-frame m, Figs. 1 and 2, carrying the seating surface b is pivoted to the fixed frame d of the settee on an axis in or near the lower surface of the mid-frame when in extended position, for instance on pivots g. The head-frame x is hinged at h to the mid-frame m and carries a pair of legs j pivoted at k and having their upper ends connected by links n to pivots o on the midframe near the pivotal axis thereof. The footframe a is hinged to the mid-frame and carries collapsable legs q and foot-rail member r. A frame y is hinged to the back of the settee frame to close down over the foot member a which assumes vertical position when in the closed position. The settee frame is closed at the bottom by a panel c to form a space for bedding. |
