A central heating product comprises a vessel provided between a boiler (7A, figure 7) of a central heating system and one or more radiator circuits (7I, figure 7) of the system. The vessel has: a boiler inlet 4A located on the top of the vessel, preferably centrally; a boiler return outlet 2A; and radiator inlets 1B,1D and outlets 1A,1C to fluidly connect the vessel with the one or more circuits. The vessel also has a bubble catchment area 5D under the boiler inlet that collects air or gas for expulsion. The vessel is preferably square in cross-section and has a de-aerator fluidly connected to the boiler inlet to expel gases captured by the catchment area. The vessel may include a drain (3B, figure 3) to remove sludge and comprise an inner steel skin 5A having a chromium oxide coating and a powder-coated outer steel skin 5C, with thermal insulation 5B in between. The vessel may include temperature sensors having digital displays provided on the boiler inlet and return, and wireless communication means to transmit vessel identity or readings taken by the sensors to a remote location. A central heating system having a bypass (7B, figure 7) is also claimed. |
