<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present a result of retrieval reflecting whether or not information to be retrieved with respect to an inputted retrieval condition is dependent on a location, irrespective of the location where the retrieval is performed. <P>SOLUTION: By the type of terminal on which a query is inputted, a query log is stored in a PC query log DB 14 or a portable terminal query log DB 15. A location dependency estimation section 11 extracts appearance frequencies of the inputted query in the portable terminal query log DB 15 and the PC query log DB 14 respectively, and an appearance frequency of all queries in each query log. The location dependency estimation section 11 then calculates and compares the appearance ratio T of the inputted query and the appearance ratio K of all queries, thereby estimating the location dependency that indicates whether to return a retrieval result depending on an input location (high location dependency) or a retrieval result not depending on the input location (low location dependency). When the location dependency is high, a location considering retrieval section 12 performs a retrieval using the inputted query and the input location, and when the location dependency is low, a non-location considering retrieval section 13 performs the retrieval using the inputted query. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
