<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensing system capable of transmitting high-power laser light transmitted from a monitoring device through an optical fiber to each sensor node with a small loss without causing reflection. <P>SOLUTION: In the sensing system 100, the laser light LA is transmitted from the monitoring device 1 including a laser generation device 11 to a plurality of sensor nodes 3 through the optical fiber 2, and in each sensor node, a part of the received laser light is photoelectrically converted by a photoelectric conversion part 32 to generate power, and a self-circuit is driven by the power, and the laser light is modulated by prescribed sensing information acquired from the sensor 37, and returned to the monitoring device 1 through the optical fiber.
