PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance image quality in a solid-stage image pickup device having a connection transistor for switching on/off between charge voltage converters and reduce dispersion in pixel signals in a pixel block.SOLUTION: A vertical scan circuit successively turns on transfer transistors TXA, TXB of pixel blocks of (n+1)-th line at different timings, and turns on a reset transistor RES of (n+1)-th line during a predetermined period (period t12-t13 and period t16-t17) before the ON period of each of the transfer transistors TXA, TXB. The length of the ON period t12-t13 of the reset transistor RES of (n+1)-th line just before the ON period of the transfer transistor TXA of the pixel block of (n+1)-th line is set to be equal to the length of the ON period t16-t17. The vertical scan circuit turns on the reset switches RES of the pixel blocks of n-th line and (n+2)-th line during the ON period t12-t13 of the reset switch RES of the pixel block of (n+1)-th line. |
