Method and system for locating interference by frequency sub-band

The method involves calculating a spatial-temporal cross-correlation matrix for signals received by an antenna (501), and sub-dividing a useful band of sub-band signals for generating a bandpass filter associated with each sub-band. A spatial correlation matrix associated with the sub-band is calculated by applying the filter, and an Eigen value is calculated for an array of spatial correlations. Interference is detected with a detection criterion, and a direction of arrival of interfering sources is determined from gain vectors that are orthogonal to an interference subspace. An independent claim is also included for a receiver.
