METHOD FOR CPU POWER MANAGEMENT IN VIDEO TRANSCODING SERVERS

Suggested is a method of managing central processing unit (CPU) power in a transcoding server. The method of managing the CPU power in the transcoding server suggested according to the present invention includes the steps of: initializing parameters to determine a frequency of a backend node; determining the lowest frequency in a list of a plurality of predetermined frequencies as a preliminary frequency; allowing a frontend node to allocate a transcoding work according to a user request to the backend node; determining if the transcoding work is performed using the selected preliminary frequency; and determining the preliminary frequency as a final frequency to be used in the transcoding work when the transcoding work can be performed.
