PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transimpedance amplifier that has a wideband and high flatness gain-frequency characteristic. SOLUTION: The transimpedance amplifier includes: a core circuit 6; an output signal monitor circuit 7 for detecting an output signal amplitude of the core circuit 6; and a control circuit 8 for controlling a gain and frequency peaking level of the core circuit 6 on the basis of amplitude detection values. The control circuit 8 changes a value of feedback resistance R<SB POS="POST">F</SB>on the basis of a detection value detected by a first amplitude detection circuit of the output signal monitor circuit 7 such that the output signal amplitude of the core circuit 6 becomes a desired value in a passband of a first bandpass filter of the output signal monitor circuit 7, and changes the frequency peaking level on the basis of a detection value detected by a second amplitude detection circuit of the output signal monitor circuit 7 such that the output signal amplitude of the core circuit 6 becomes a desired value in a passband of a second bandpass filter of the output signal monitor circuit 7.
