The present invention relates to a liquid crystal aligning agent, a liquid crystal alignment film, a liquid crystal display element, a polyamic acid and polymide . The liquid crystal aligning agent can provide the liquid crystal alignment film which has excellent pretile angle characteristic through an optical alignment method and does not cause display performance deterioration after long-time continuous operation. The liquid crystal aligning agent comprises at least one polymer selected from a group which is composed of one polyamic acid and the polymide formed through performing dewatering loop-closing treatment of the polymide, wherein the polyamic acid is obtained through a reaction between tetracarboxylic diamine and a diamine which comprises a first kind of diamine that comprises a compound represented by the general formula (A-1-1) and has an optical reactive structure. |
