The present invention relates to a device and a method for recognizing an animal individual using noise patterns of animals and, more particularly, to a device for recognizing an animal individual which comprises: an animal motion fixing unit for stopping motion of an animal individual to acquire an identifiable noise pattern image necessary for recognition of the animal individual; an image acquisition unit for acquiring and storing the noise pattern image of the animal individual whose motion is stopped by the animal motion fixing unit; and an image recognition unit for generating, registering, authenticating, and identifying a noise pattern code from the noise pattern image acquired by the image acquisition unit or the corrected noise pattern image.
