1. A liquid crystal display comprising;
a timing controller serially providing optical data; first through n-th backlight drivers enabled sequentially, receiving the optical data, and connected to each other in cascade, wherein n is an integer greater than one; a plurality of light-emitting devices respectively connected to each of the first through n-th backlight drivers and emitting light in response to the optical data; a liquid crystal panel receiving the light and displaying an image in response to signals from a data driver and a gate; and each of boost converters providing a power supply voltage required to drive each of the light-emitting devices, wherein each of the first through n-th backlight drivers includes an interface unit which is enabled in response to a first carry signal and which is disabled after outputting a second carry signal, and wherein the first carry signal applied to the first backlight driver is a vertical start signal for initiating an operation of the gate driver.
