The present invention relates to a composition for inhibiting an alternative pathway containing an alternative pathway inhibitor and a method for inhibiting an alternative pathway and, more specifically, an alternative pathway inhibitor like antagonists, a complement factor H or B, a composition for inhibiting an alternative pathway containing immunosuppressive substances and a method for inhibiting an alternative pathway using the same. In the present invention, the alternative pathway inhibitor like antagonists which are the complement factor H or B and the composition for inhibiting an alternative pathway containing immunosuppressive substances have effects of inhibiting IMBIR and of extending the life of the transplanted and are accordingly used in a transplant procedure of transplanting langerhans islets separated from pigs.
