A liquid crystal display device comprising: a first substrate including a first insulative substrate, a first wiring line extending in a first direction on a side of the first insulative substrate, a second wiring line disposed spaced apart from the first wiring line, an interlayer insulation film covering the first wiring line and the second wiring line, third wiring lines extending in a second direction crossing the first direction on the interlayer insulation film, and a first electrode including, on the interlayer insulation film, a capacitance portion opposed to the second wiring line, and main pixel electrodes extending from the capacitance portion in the second direction, the first electrode being spaced apart from the third wiring lines; a second substrate including a second insulative substrate, and second electrodes extending, on a side of the second insulative substrate which is opposed to the first substrate, in a direction which is substantially parallel to a direction of extension of the first electrode, on both sides of the first electrode; and a liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules held between the first substrate and the second substrate.
