<p>The present invention relates to a method for indirectly measuring energy in a network path. The method of the present invention includes: receiving, by network equipment, a packet including information of an amount of power consumed for processing a transmission of a packet by a preceding network equipment from the preceding network equipment; calculating, by the network equipment, the information of the amount of power consumed for processing the transmission of the packet by the preceding network equipment by referring to a power consumption rate table, in which a unit packet processing power amount consumed by the network equipment for processing the unit packet is measured in advance and stored for each traffic load; updating, by the network equipment, power amount information stored in the packet received from the preceding network equipment by adding the power amount information and the power amount information stored in a header of the packet received from the preceding network equipment; and transmitting, by the network equipment, the packet, in which the updated power amount information is stored, to following network equipment. According to the present invention, the energy consumed by network equipment in the network path, through which the packet is transmitted, can be indirectly measured at a low cost by using a software scheme.</p> |
