An electronic device is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the electronic device periodically transmits current location information to a location information service providing server when executing a grouping application; generates a group including at least one member according to a user′s selection among address book information received from the location information service providing server; transmits a message of requesting participation in the group to the member included in the group through a social network service providing server when a predetermined event occurs; periodically receives location information from at least one member who accepts participation in the group; and displays the received location information on the map.
