A mobile terminal and a controlling method thereof are disclosed. According to embodiments of the present invention, comprised are a display unit outputting first map information; a communication unit transmitting and receiving at least one date by connecting with an external electronic device; and a control unit determining a geographical location corresponding to a specific location data when the specific location data selected by using second map information from the connected external electronic device is received, calculating a coordinate value of the determined geographical location, and then displaying the same on the first map information.
