<p>The present invention relates to a cylindrical secondary battery and a manufacturing method thereof, the cylindrical secondary battery comprising a metal can (100) whose upper part is opened; a jelly roll type electrode assembly (110) which is inserted in the metal can (100); and a cap part (120) which covers the opening part of the metal can (100) and the side part of the meal can (100) is closely moved inside. The manufacturing method of the present invention comprises a first step (S10) of inserting a jelly roll type electrode assembly (110) whose outer diameter is smaller than the inner diameter of the metal can (100) in the cylindrical metal can (100) whose upper part is opened; and a second step (S20) of molding the metal can (100) so that the side part of the metal can is moved the inside, so the metal can (100) is close to the electrode assembly (110), leading to the prevention of flow and accordingly reducing vibration, which prevents damage to the electrode assembly (110) and, thus, increases marketability.</p> |
