Provided are a relay function control device of a receiver in a wireless power transfer system and a method thereof. The relay function control device includes: a control unit for determining the state of the receiver among charge state, relay state, complex state and standby state based on the demand power of the receiver; an impedance matching unit for performing impedance matching according to the demand power of the receiver based on the determined state of the receiver; and a switching unit for transferring the power signal to the battery or load based on the determined state of receiver and blocking the transmission of power signal.
