A connecting element for a secondary battery according to the present invention includes: a metal plate having a recess groove; a soldering pattern which has a lower melting point compared to that of the metal plate and is formed in the recess groove; and an insulating layer which is formed on at least one of both surfaces of the metal plate and covers a region where the soldering pattern is formed. According to the present invention, when an overcurrent is generated, the connecting element not only can quickly block the generation of the overcurrent but also can prevent secondary damage due to sparks generated when the connecting element for a secondary battery is broken.
