发明名称 Non dazzling projector of high efficiency
摘要
404,540. Vehicle &c. lamps. WETZEL, J., 130, Boulevard Brune, Paris. June 9, 1933, No. 16601. Convention date, June 16, 1932. [Class 75 (iv).] A light projector, particularly applicable for use as a vehicle lamp for projecting a downwardly directed beam across the full width of the road or for the illumination of a rectangular or other wide surface by means of a beam falling on the surface at a very small angle, comprises a source of light at the centre of curvature of a rear reflector 1 which is circular in cross-section and a series of rigid or flexible reflecting blades 2 which are flat or of parabolic or other curvature in crosssection and arranged in front of the light source with their parallel edges substantially at right-angles to the axis o x of the projector. One or more point or linear sources of light may be employed and the rear reflector may be in the form of half a circular cylinder or a hemisphere. In the latter case use may be made of a spherical electric lamp bulb with half its surface silvered to act as a reflector. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the innermost edge c of each blade overlaps, with respect to the incident light rays, the outermost edge d of the next blade remote from the axis, and the edges c, d are distributed on two curved surfaces. The space between the innermost blades may be closed by a diffusing glass, a lens, or an opaque screen. The sides of the projector may be closed by a pair of plane reflectors 3 at right-angles to the edges c, d or by a pair of half paraboloidal reflectors, a light source being arranged at the focus of each half paraboloid. The blades 2 may be mounted in slots in the side reflectors 3, their ends engaging the side walls of the projector casing 5 and being fixed in position by metal strips, or they may be mounted in notches in a pair of relatively adjustable supporting members. Alternatively, they may be mounted in side supports by means of tenon-and-mortise joints. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the upper and lower halves of the rear reflector 1 are connected respectively to the supports 10a, 10 of the lower and upper group of blades 2, and are separately adjustable about a transverse axis.
