A pest controller containing, as the active ingredient, a substituted aminoquinazolinone (thione) derivative or salt thereof represented by the general formula (I): <CHEM> Äwherein R is H, OH, a formyl group, a halo(C1-6)alkyl group, a hydroxy(C1-6)alkyl group, a (C2-6)alkenyl group, a (substituted) amino(C1-6)alkyl group, a (substituted) aminocarbonyl group, a (substituted) phenyl(C1-3)alkyl group, a (substituted) phenylalkynyl(C1-3)alkyl group, 1,3-dioxolan-2-yl-(C1-3)alkyl group, a phtahlimido(C1- 6)alkyl group and the like; R<1> is a 5 to 6 membered heterocyclic group having 1 to 3 hetero atoms selected from the group consisting of Q, S and N; Y is Q or S; Z is a group of the formula -N=C(R2)- or -N(R3)-CH(R2)- (wherein each one of R<2> and R<3> is a hydrogen atom, a (C1- 6)alkyl group or the like); X is Br, I, OH, CN, a (C1-6)alkyl group, a (C2-6)alkenyl group, a (substituted) aminocarbonyl group, a (substituted) phenyloxy group or the like; n is an integer of 0 to 4Ü, and said substituted aminoquinazolinone derivative or salt thereof possesses excellent insecticidal effects at low dosage against greenhouse whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum) etc., to which conventional compounds having chemical structures analogous do not show the desired insecticidal effects. |
