APPARATUS FOR FILTERING WATER FROM DIFFERENT SOURCES AND METHOD OF PREPARING SORBENT MATERIAL

Apparatus for filtering water from different sources and method of preparing sorbent material relate to purification of liquids from impurities by filtration and can be used in systems of production and domestic utilization and for monitoring the state of natural aqueous medium and subsequent determination concentration of some elements. An apparatus has a chamber, having an inlet and outlet for a liquid stream and a sorbent element which is hydrodynamically linked to the inlet and the outlet. The chamber is a composite column with a funnel, wherein the connecting parts of the top part of the column enter its bottom part, the structure is fastened by rods and bolts, and is connected to a receiving device fitted with a pump, the sorbent element is a removable cartridge with sorbent material therein placed inside the chamber and is supported by a grid. A method of preparing the sorbent material involves cutting discs from polyurethane, washing, drying and successively saturating the matrix with chemicals to form in the matrix a mixture of iron oxyhydroxide and manganese(IV) dioxide in ratio of 5:1 with pH ~8. The technical effect provides high efficiency and rate of concentrating elements from water, purification of liquids and easier use of the apparatus.
