<p>Disclosed is a method of producing a product from biomass, comprising: producing a processed biomass by opening up or texturizing a cellulosic or lignocellulosic biomass material by mechanically treating the material, wherein producing the processed biomass comprises: grinding the biomass material into a fine powder; or chopping the biomass material; or shearing the biomass material; producing a first product from the processed biomass at a first site with a reactor or a converter, wherein the producing comprises utilising the reactor or convertor to convert the processed biomass into sugars using microorganisms and/or an enzyme; transporting the reactor or the converter to a second site; and producing a second product from the processed biomass at the second site with the reactor or the converter; wherein the first and second sites are located on bodies of water.</p> |
