A canister-type thruster is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the canister-type thruster comprises: a canister lifting inside a trunk of a hull or a floatable structure; a lifting device having a rack gear lengthily installed in a lifting direction on the outer surface of the canister, pinion gears installed in the trunk and engaged with the rack gear, and a lifting driving part with a driving source for driving the pinion gears, and lifting the canister; a guide device for guiding the lifting of the canister; and a shock absorbing guide member mounted on the end of the rack gear.
