The present invention relates to lithium metal oxide, a method for producing the same, and a lithium secondary battery using the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to lithium metal oxide, a method for producing the same, and a lithium secondary battery using the same, wherein the lithium metal oxide is represented by Chemical Formula 1 and satisfies 0 g/cc < tap density < 1.2 g/cc, 2.5 m2/g <= specific surface area, and 2 um <= average particle size <= 5 um. By means of the present invention, the lithium metal oxide has a high initial charge and discharge efficiency, and provides for energy density.
