PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method using a tissue scaffold for accelerating the healing from anastomosis.SOLUTION: There are provided a tissue scaffold 10 to be arranged in an anastomosis region AS in a body cavity including a scaffold structure 30 that has a side part 13 and an intermediate part, and is expandable in a radial direction, at least one holding element 41 connected to each outside part, and a barrier layer 50. The holding element engages a lumen wall W when the scaffold structure is expanded, thereby holding the structure and applying compressive force to the anastomosis. The intermediate part has rigidity in a radial direction larger than the rigidity of the outside part so that the outside part engages the tissue prior to the intermediate part when the structure is expanded. The barrier layer is configured so as to engage the lumen wall when the structure is expanded, thereby providing a fluid seal to the anastomosis. The barrier layer can also include a releasable biological action substance 56 for accelerating anastomosis wound healing. |
