PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance laying efficiency.SOLUTION: In a method for laying a submarine pipeline, two winch wires 31, 32 and two power cables 21, 22 whose tip parts are connected respectively to an internal clamp 20 through newly-laying pipes 12, 13 are prepared and used alternately to hold the internal clamp 20 at a fixed position (position of first operation stage 2) during launching, so that the internal clamp can be operated immediately after the newly-laying pipe 13 is set. Thus, dead time is reduced.
