The present invention relates to a device and a method for pretreating a sequencer, and addresses the problem of providing a highly reliable pretreatment for analyzing a large-scale nucleotide sequence. A method for pretreating a sequencer comprises: an extraction step of mixing a sample, an extraction reagent solution and a magnetic particle suspension together using a sequencer pretreatment device to extract a nucleic acid, wherein the sequencer pretreatment device is equipped with a suction/ejection mechanism, a nozzle head equipped with a nozzle onto which a dispenser chip is to be mounted in a detachable manner, containers in which various solutions including the magnetic particle suspension are respectively placed, a movement mechanism which can cause the relative movement of the nozzle between the containers, and a magnetic force section which can apply a magnetic field to the inside of the mounted dispenser chip, and wherein the sample, the extraction reagent solution and the magnetic particle suspension are respectively placed in the containers; a fragmentation production step of mixing the nucleic acid with a fragmentation solution placed in some of the containers using the sequencer pretreatment device to fragment the nucleic acid and then producing a fragment having a nucleotide sequence length suitable for the sequencer from the fragmented nucleic acid products using the magnetic particle suspension; and an amplification pretreatment step of dispensing a predetermined volume of a solution containing the produced fragment into each of the reaction containers using the sequencer pretreatment device. |
