A heat pump device (200) which is provided with a two-cylinder compressor (100) comprising an electric motor (8) and two compression parts (10, 20) to be driven by the electric motor (8), and has a structure in which an operation mode is switched between two operation modes of an individual operation in which one of the compression parts (10, 20) is put into an uncompressed state and a parallel operation in which both of the compression parts (10, 20) are put into a compressed state, the heat pump device being provided with: an inverter drive control unit (150) which supplies drive power to the electric motor (8) of the two-cylinder compressor (100); an operation mode detection determination means (145) which determines a present operation mode on the basis of an electric signal acquired from the inverter drive control unit (150); and a capability control unit (160) which determines the rotation frequency of the electric motor (8) such that the temperature of a target object approaches a set value, and controls the inverter drive control unit (150) on the basis of the result of the determination by the operation mode detection determination means (145). |
