PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a compression force suitable for compressing a power transmission member by compensating variations of volumes of oil chambers of a continuously variable transmission.SOLUTION: Reference compression force setting means M1 sets a reference compression force for avoiding the generation of a slip between and among an input disc 15, an output disc 16 and a power roller 19, volume change amount calculation means M6 calculates volume change amounts of oil chambers 27, 28 for generating compression forces on the basis of the requirement compression force and a target gear change ratio, and compression force correction means M9 corrects the reference compression force on the basis of the volume change amount. Thereby, even if volumes of the oil chambers 27, 28 are changed by hydraulic pressure, the reference compression force is corrected by feedforward control so as to compensate the volume changes of the oil chambers 27, 28, and thus, the compression force is generated without deficiency and excess, a slip of the power roller 19 is prevented, and a drive force of an oil pump 41 which generates the hydraulic pressure can be saved. Also, the present invention can contribute to the improvement of the efficiency of a toroidal-type continuously variable transmission T, to the reduction of a calorific value, and to the improvement of durability. |
