The present invention discloses a portable terminal and screen control method thereof, the method comprising: measuring the speed of movement and duration of illumination of the screen of a portable terminal; when the speed of movement falls within a set speed threshold value range and the duration of illumination of the screen reaches a set threshold, triggering a screen deactivation operation. The solution of the present invention measures speed of movement and duration of illumination of the screen of a portable terminal in order to determine whether a user is using the portable terminal in a specific situation (such as during walking); if the user is using the terminal in a specific situation, the user's use of the terminal is interrupted by means of a screen deactivation operation; this method assists the user in correcting bad habits in operation of the portable terminal, eliminating safety risks and ensuring the user's personal safety. |
