A canister-type thruster is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the canister-type thruster comprises: a canister lifted inside a trunk of a hull or a floating structure; and a lifting device for lifting the canister. The lifting device comprises: a rack gear installed on the outer surface of the canister and extended in a lifting direction; pinion gears installed in the trunk and engaged with the rack gear; a lifting driving part having a driving source for driving the pinion gears; and an engagement adjusting system for adjusting the rotation position of the pinion gears to a set position in the installation of the canister to smoothly engage the rack gear with the pinion gears.
