PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it normally difficult to read an information code and to make it possible to securely read the information code when making the read using a special reader.SOLUTION: An information code reading system 1 is characterized in that a light-color module region of an information code C added to an information code forming medium 10 is an inversion region, and a dark-light module region is a non-inversion region. An information code reader 40 is provided with a second illumination light source 44 capable of irradiating the information code forming medium 10 with illumination light of second wavelength band, and images the information code forming medium 10 in a state in which the information code forming medium 10 is irradiated with the illumination light of second wavelength band. An inversion region and a non-inversion region are discriminatingly detected in an image of the imaged information code forming medium 10 to extract regions of the light-color module and dark-color module, and the information code C is deciphered based upon extraction results.
