PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide transgenic avians that provide high-level expression of an exogenous coding sequence in oviduct cells (e.g., tubular gland cells).SOLUTION: There is provided a transgenic avian including in its genome an exogenous nucleotide sequence which includes an oviduct specific promoter component and a self-inactivating vector with reduced interference with the oviduct specific promoter, where the exogenous nucleotide sequence is integrated into the genome and the avian.
