A canister-type thruster is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the canister-type thruster comprises a canister lifted inside a trunk of a hull or a floating structure and a lifting device. The lifting device comprises: a rail lengthily installed on the outer surface of the trunk in a lifting direction to lift the canister or to guide the lifting of the canister; a rack gear arranged on the rail; a rail guide installed in the canister to guide the rail; pinion parts engaged with the rack gear; and a lifting driving part installed in the canister to drive the pinion parts.
