<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an escalator as a staircase meeting the Building Standards Act at need while maintaining the shape of the escalator.SOLUTION: Each special footstep 22 comprises a footstep body 23 and an auxiliary footstep part 24 provided at a part adjoining a footstep 2 on the upper step side. Each auxiliary footstep part 24 can be displaced to a projection position projecting upward from the footstep body 23 in an ongoing way. A footboard 15 of each special footstep 22 is divided into a main footboard 15a provided at the footstep body 23 and an auxiliary footboard 15b provided at the auxiliary footstep part 24. The auxiliary footboard 15b is displaced to an intermediate height between the main footboard 15a and a footstep 2 adjoining the upper step side.</p> |
