This light emitting apparatus is provided with a light emitting element (110), and a light extraction sheet (120) that transmits light generated from the light emitting element (110). The light emitting element (110) has a first electrode (13) having light transmitting characteristics, a second electrode (11), and a light emitting layer (12) that is provided between the first and second electrodes. The light extraction sheet (120) has: a light transmitting substrate (14) having a first surface and a second surface; a first light extraction structure (15) that is provided on the first surface side of the light transmitting substrate (14); and a second light extraction structure (16) that is provided on the second surface side of the light transmitting substrate (14). The first light extraction structure (15) has a low refractive index layer (15a), and a high refractive index layer (15b) having a higher refractive index than the low refractive index layer (15a), and an interface between the high refractive index layer (15b) and the low refractive index layer (15a) has a recessed and protruding shape. The second light extraction structure (16) is configured such that the average transmissivity of light that passes through the light transmitting substrate and enters at an incident angle of 60 degrees to 80 degrees is 20 % or more.
