A method to control a wind power generator is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method includes steps of (a) driving a wind power generator in an individual pitch control method; (b) determining an error of a wind load sensor which senses wind load on blades in the individual pitch control method; (c) converting the individual pitch control method to a collective pitch control method when errors in the wind load sensor are detected; and (d) lowering a peak value of the wind load applied on the blades under standard wind speed.
