The present inventive concept relates to a feeder (1, 100, 200) for animals comprising a volume (3, 103, 203) for holding hay defined by a front layer (5, 105, 205) and a rear layer (7, 107, 207). The rear layer (7) is arranged opposite to and connected to the front layer (5). The front layer (5) comprises a first meshed net (10) having meshes (12) of a first mesh size through which an animal may remove hay. The feeder also comprises a second meshed net (20) comprised in the rear layer (7) and having meshes (22) of a second mesh size smaller than the first mesh size, thereby imposing a greater effort for the animal to remove hay through the second meshed net (20) compared to through the first meshed net (10), or the feeder (100, 200) comprises a second meshed net (120, 220) arranged in front of the first meshed net (110, 210) thereby imposing a greater effort for the animal to remove hay through both the first and second meshed nets compared to through only the first meshed net. |
