<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress an increase in toner consumption and an increase in waiting time, while suppressing occurrence of difference in image density and hue of output images between image forming modes using different image forming units.SOLUTION: When a tandem type image forming apparatus of an intermediate transfer system including five image forming units performs specified color printing using some of image forming units of the five image forming units, forms images of toner patches for determination with the image forming unit arranged on the uppermost stream of the image forming units to be used in the specified color printing, and determines necessity of execution of specified color process control using the image forming units to be used in the specified color printing on the basis of a detection result of the amount of toner attached to the toner patches for determination.</p> |
