A device for calculating risk of a patient developing a serious infection, the device comprising: a controller; storage storing electronic program instructions for controlling the controller; a display for displaying a user interface; and input means; wherein the controller is operable, under 5 control of the electronic program instructions, to: receive input via the input means, the input comprising one or more values representing respective measures of one or more risk factors associated with biological sample(s) obtained from the patient; process the input to calculate the risk; and display an indication of the calculated risk via the display. |
