A loom (22, Figure 3) for producing a linked item from plural links such as elastic bands comprises a base (36) having length and width, and plural upstanding pins 40. Each pin includes a top flange 44 and an access groove 48 extending through the top surface and preferably the flange. The pins are arranged in at least 3 equally spaced rows. The base may include a slot 54 extending below a first surface 38 of the base providing access for a hook (66) below that surface. The grooves and slots are preferably oriented parallel with the length. The central row of pins may be staggered relative to outer rows. The base may include a feature for connecting looms together. During injection moulding, portions of the mould extend through the base to define the flanges and produce openings (74) through the first surface partially surrounding the pins. A first elastic band may be stretched across first and second pins and a second band stretched across the second pin and a third pin and over the first band on the second pin. A hook may be used to catch the end of the first band on the second pin to pull it through the second band onto the first pin to form a brunnian link. |
