PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die apparatus for forging capable of manufacturing mechanical parts with processing accuracy equal to or greater than ever before even in a press machine with small pressing capacity by reducing the number of processes and lowering the forging and forming load in the case of multi-stage forging. SOLUTION: In the die apparatus for forging 1, the first stage level difference is formed by bringing an upper die 90 close to a floating die 81 and pressurizing a workpiece 101 under a state that the floating die 81 is pushed up and held by raising oil pressure of a hydraulic cylinder 50; the second stage level difference is formed by bringing the upper die 90 close to the floating die 81 and pressurizing the workpiece 101 under a state that the oil pressure of the hydraulic cylinder 51 is released and the bottom surface of the floating die 81 is abutted against the top surface of a lower stage die 86; and a flange is formed by bringing, successively, the upper die 90 close to the floating die 81 and further pressurizing the workpiece 101 and allowing a part of material of the workpiece 101 to flow into a gap formed between the bottom surface of the upper die 90 and the top surface of the floating die 81.
