PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein when color images are formed by superposing color inks having a plurality of colors including pigment color materials and a plurality of types of clear inks on each other on a recording medium, in a technology for obtaining a wider color reproducing range by controlling an ink superposition order so that an ink having a more intense light-scattering property (internal reflection) is positioned on a lower layer, interface reflection caused by a refractive index difference between ink layers including air layers is not considered.SOLUTION: Superposition order information on clear inks is preset, so that on each of colors of color inks, clear inks having refractive indexes smaller than that of the color ink are superposed in descending order of the refractive indexes. During image formation, based on a recording order of the color inks, the color ink on the uppermost layer is acquired, and the superposition order of the clear inks on the uppermost layer color ink is acquired from the superposition order information. In accordance with the superposition order, the clear inks are superposed on the uppermost layer color ink. Thus, interface reflection in formed images can be reduced, so as to expand a color reproducing range. |
